About Us

Test The West is a small specialist portable appliance testing (PAT testing) company. We believe we offer the most complete and competitive service in Dorset, Devon, Somerset and Hampshire. We are based in Lyme Regis and have a second office in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Our clients range from PLC's and national charities to single self employed trades people.

Service and support

We aim to give you more service and support for the money than any other company. For example we provide free staff safety training materials that may help you towards meeting the requirements for staff training under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. In addition we do a limited inspection of the fixed wiring to give an indication of the quality of the protective earth at socket outlets free of charge.

All inspectors are City & Guilds 2377 qualified, and hold a Certificate of competence for the Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, awarded by the Institution of Electrical Engineers.

Covered by Public Liability (£5 Million) and Professional Indemnity insurance.

All testing will be conducted under the code of practice for In-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment (3rd edition 2008) published by the IEE, using instruments to BS EN 61010-031 fully calibrated, and traceable to national standards.
