Frequency of testing (based on information from the HSE and the IEE)

Office areas: The following should be taken as a guide.

Combined Inspection and testing, 1-5 years

Workshops: because of the demanding environment, the IEE recommends frequent inspections.

Combined Inspection and testing, 6-12 months

Construction sites: because of the more demanding environment, the IEE recommends more frequent inspections for tools, leads and transformers than the workshop.

Combined Inspection and testing, 3 months

User checks, formal visual inspections and combined inspection and testing
The HSE and the IEE suggest the following strategy; user checks, backed up by formal visual inspection and combined inspection and test. Our reports give full details on carrying out user checks and formal visual inspections. The combined inspection and testing is the PAT testing inspection that we carry out. We also provide a straightforward fact sheet detailing user checks (based on HSE advice) for your employees use.

Testing notes
Users should inspect equipment for damage/faults on a weekly basis.

We are happy to undergo any health and safety inductions that may be required to test on site (please let us know in advance) Please also let us know about any PPE we may need to bring.
